Smog City Brewing Co. has several event spaces for hosting anything from celebration parties, showers, wedding receptions, office team buildings, training sessions, and more. The spaces we have available are listed below and each one comes with access to our wide variety of quality beers.

Smog City Brewery & Taproom

If you have a large group and need a fun space during the day to host meetings, trainings, lunches, and more, our Taproom housed inside our brewery can be tailored to make the perfect space for your event. When you rent out this space, you will have the entire brewery taproom and patio to yourself and it will not be open to the public during your event. We have high top tables with barstools, tables, chairs, picnic tables, and benches. You’ll have access to our entire line-up of draft and bottled beers with beertenders on hand just for your group. Some unique features include our barrel wall featuring local artist painted barrels on display, a shuffleboard inside and patio games outside! A small selection of wines can be added to the menu for purchase as well if requested. You can bring in your own catering or food. 4 bathrooms.

Smog City Brewery Patio

Smog City’s patio is the most popular spot at the brewery to enjoy our beers and is a beautiful place to host guests. Enjoy California's finest weather with this outdoor space. Enhanced ambiance once the sun goes down with lit trees as your backdrop and festoon lights hanging from above. You can rent the entire patio for a large group or reserve half of the space for a smaller get together. Either way, it gets you the best seat in the house!

Smog City West

Fully Private or Shared Space

Smog City West is our newest and coziest Taproom in the heart of Torrance.

 Featuring a lounge area with comfy couches and bar spaces with high top tables and bar seating, Smog City West is a great spot for cocktail style events, birthday parties, and more. This space is turnkey and doesn’t require much on your end besides people and food (if you want it). 

You can rent the entire space out for larger gatherings or reserve a section of the space that is just for your group. Either way, you get access to our full line-up of 17 beers on draft, many of which are exclusive to West and part of our Wood Cellar program. A small selection of wines can be added to the menu for purchase with full space rentals as well if requested.

Can I bring outside alcohol to a private event?

No outside alcohol. Period. We can provide non-alcoholic beverages for a fee or they can be brought in by yourself for no extra cost.  Wine may be available to purchase under certain circumstances. Feel free to ask us about it if you'd like wine too! 


Can I bring my own food or book an outside food vendor?

You are allowed to bring in ready-to-eat food prepared off site. Food trucks or pop-ups are subject to Smog City approval. We regularly have food trucks at the brewery taproom Thursday-Sunday, please check for availability before booking an outside vendor.  A list of approved food trucks available for private booking can be provided upon request.


Are you family friendly?

Absolutely! We welcome guests of all ages provided they are accompanied by a parent/guardian?


Are pets allowed at your locations?

Well behaved pets kept on leash close to their owner are allowed.


Do you provide any games or activities?

We have fun outdoor games like cornhole and giant Jenga available upon request.


Can my guests pay on separate tabs?

All beverage orders must be applied to the group tab set up for the event to ensure accurate accounting of your tab against pre-determined beverage minimum. If guests wish to continue drinking after your event has concluded, they may open their own tab, but this will not count towards the overall group tab. At the end of your event, you may split the payment of the group tab a maximum of 4 ways.


Do you serve alcoholic beverages other than beer?

In some cases, a wine selection is available upon request. Please check with Smog City for restrictions around serving wine at events. We do not serve alternatives like hard liquor, ciders, or hard seltzers.


Can I bring my own decorations?

You can bring decorations for your event provided that you do not use any destructive or hazardous items or fasteners. This means no nails, screws, bolts, glue, thumb tacks, pins, duct tape, paint, ink, confetti, glitter, or pyrotechnics. Approved fasteners are string or cord, zip ties, twist ties, masking/painter's tape, 3M contact strips. You are responsible for cleanup of all items at the conclusion of your event. You will be responsible for the cost of repairing any damage or cleaning of our facilities by your decorations or the actions of you and your guests.


What is the cost of booking an event?

Upfront cost is a $100-$200 booking fee. This amount is paid when you sign your event contract agreement and ensures that your desired space is reserved for your party's use on the day you choose. 

In addition to the booking fee, Smog City will establish a beverage minimum for your event. This cost is variable and based on several factors: party size, time of day, duration, day of the week, and amenities/services chosen. Your party will be responsible for meeting or exceeding the pre-determined minimum amount. If your group tab falls under the minimum amount, you will still be charged the full minimum amount + 20% gratuity.
